Oliver Law Firm Wins Small Business of The Year

Northwest Arkansas is home to several large corporations, but the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce knows the importance of small businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of America’s economy, representing more than 99% of all employers, creating three-fourths of all new jobs and accounting for more than one-half of the nation’s gross domestic product.

The Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce and its Small Business Council takes time throughout the year to recognize small business owners for their contribution to the community. Each month the Small Business Council awards a business with less than 100 employees with the Small Business of the Month Award. At the end of the year the council nominates one of those twelve businesses as the Small Business of The Year. The Council considers contribution to our community, outstanding customer service, unique ideas and inspiring success stories. “When we think about our vision we are thinking 30 years down the road, not 5”, says Justin Mill, 2013 Co-Chair of the Small Business Council.

Oliver Law Firm is this year’s winner of The Small Business of The Year Award. Chair for the Small Business Council, JD Davis said, “Giving back to the community is a message woven into the fabric of Oliver Law Firm ‘s culture; their associates not only embrace it, they live it.”

Oliver Law Firm was founded in 1974 and thirty years later expanded when Sach D. Oliver became a partner. From day one, Frank began mentoring and teaching Sach the importance of giving back and community safety, which is still the focus of Oliver Law Firm today. If you walk in the doors of Oliver Law Firm you will notice a team, not individuals. The break room is filled with chatter about the voluntary reading program.

“Our Reading Program gives everyone the opportunity to expand their horizons”. You may also hear people in the halls talk about the latest Rotary meeting or who helped out where at the Cancer Challenge. On any given weekend you will see Sach Oliver and his auction team out volunteering at live auctions. The Oliver Law Firm Auction Team have helped raise almost one million dollars for local non-profit organizations. Sach Oliver says, “We get excited when we can help raise money for a worthy cause.”
